soccer fever is in the air... even though i'm not exactly a soccer fan, i still catch that occasional match when its on tv. in the wee hours of the morning, i caught the opening match between germany and costa rica... pretty exciting... in the first half, 3 goals in total were scored! i did not subscribe to cable and was lucky to witness the excitement because our local tv station decided to broadcast it!
what really pissed me off --> i had perfectly good signals from our neighbouring country's tv stations all along... and just days/hours before, the signals were jammed... when enquiries were made, the usual 'merry-go-round, pushing-the-blame' game started. the govt department blamed the cable operator and vice-versa... please lor, we are NOT dumb... why would the signals so mysteriously scramble just hours before the opening match when all along i received CLEAR signals from the tv station??
anyhow, i will NOT succumb to the bullying of big corporations! i will NOT subscribe to cable! there are SO many cafes/coffeeshops/pubs/clubs showing the live matches so i have plenty of options if i really want to catch the matches!
