why i cannot be a food blogger
i love yummy food, there's no denying and thus, i cannot be a food blogger. the minute a mouthwatering plate of food ends up on the table, (hb &) i 'attack' it ferociously and thus, we'll (hardly) be able to take a decent photo of the dish untouched. :)
two weeks ago, on our fifth wedding anniversary, we decided to do something different. instead of the usual fine-dining-romantic-ambience-all-dressed-up-wine-foie-gras-combination, we went to geylang and no! its not what you think! there was no hanky panky!! instead we went to 'surrender' ourselves to (infamous) Danny of Sin Huat fame. Mind you, Anthony Bourdain featured him on a tour to Singapore and rates him as one of the BEST in the world!
no, it was not our 1st time there so we know about the (long) wait and (exhorbitant) prices. after waiting for about 45 mins, danny came out to take our order - our intention was just to have crab beehoon + veggie + one more dish but we ended up with crab beehoon + stirfried veggie + steamed garlic prawn + steamed gong gong + 6 drinks. the bill came up to almost $150 (for two of us) - considering it was a coffeeshop, many will say that its not worth the price tag. oh well, we happen to be those who think it is. anyway, we left lorong 35 after 2.5 hours extremely satisfied and until now, the yummy taste is still lingering in our mouth (and thoughts) but unfortunately, with that kinda price tag, it means that we can't eat there very often. what a bugger :
the only photos we managed to take...

steamed garlic prawn (as you can see, we were already half-way through the dish)

dh with the yummy crab bee hoon
