down under
Its been more than 2 months since I step foot onto the great land of down under. It took me quite a while to get used to the fact that I was finally away from my family and friends, pursuing my dreams.
Should I just say that I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to pursue my education in a foreign country? Given the opportunity to experience a different kind of lifestyle, different cultures and educational system.
I am currently sharing an house with 2 Aussies and 2 Swedish and the cultural exchange is extremely enriching. I must also add that the Aussies are really a warm and friendly bunch. I am having lots of fun getting to know the people and the place. Unfortunately though, I am still quite homesick (despite all the little 'annoying' things about my country) but I will be heading home soon!
Over last weekend, I made a trip to Moreton Island, supposedly for whale watching. But it was a big disappointment. The journey to the island was much longer than the time I actually spent on the island to 'look for whales'. I shan't name the tour operator that took me to the island but it was one hellva lousy tour they did. I guess I'll just have to wait till end of November when I head for Port Stephens at New South Wales to catch sight of any whales!
