konnichiwa!
I have only been back from Japan for less than 2 weeks but I already miss the place terribly. The cool weather, the polite people, the efficient system, the delicious Japanese cuisine in generous servings and the mad traffic jams every morning (?? of coz not! i hate traffic jams!)...
Its definitely a far cry from the horrible place I live in. Where the sun is shining 365 days in a year and making money is what most people have on their mind. How often do we pause and take a look at the things, people and places around us? How often do we appreciate the beauty of it all?
I could really go on and on about how nice Japan is, really... like how people queue up to board the bus or train & how they go all out just to help you when you ask? But you really have to be there to experience it all. Its a haven for both geeks and women alike... where Akihabara has every kind of electrical products and gadgets you can possible think of and Kichijoji has Shiseido and Kose products at much cheaper prices (compared to where I come from, of course). Unfortunately though, the rainy season was slightly dampening on my spirits.
* Sighz... I will definitely go back there one day. To see the sakuras, climb Mt. Fuji, shop till I drop and just soak in the culture... you should take a trip there too.
