Happy New Year!
hi hi hi! its a brand new year! what are your new year resolutions this year? and how were the parties this year?
i spent quiet time at home with my family because i am no longer keen to squeeze with people in street parties. its disgusting to read about gals being molested out on the streets and its real unfair to say that they are 'inviting' it because they were dressed scantily... nobody 'deserves' to be molested!
on another note, instead of travelling to jb for makan and quick shopping over the long weekends, we stayed at home. the media reports about singaporeans being attacked and robbed in broad daylight is scary! we are lucky that we remain unscathed despite our many trips to jb this year (we averaged one trip per month). anyway, i've learnt to be very careful when i'm on the other side on the causeway. these are my ten 'commandments' should i decide to go:-
1) leave my prada, diamond rings and expensive watches at home
2) drive a less flashy car
3) carry a sling bag - slinged across and pouch in front. hold on to the bag at all times if possible
4) never, never, never flash money!!
5) bring minimal cash (usually rm50 or 100 max)
6) leave my wallet, which also happens to be a prada! :P, at home, bringing only one credit card (occasionally also my atm card) for shopping
7) stay in groups
8) always carry my passport with me
9) dun stop the car unneccesary... (i've heard horror stories about pple being robbed thanks to 'fake' accidents
and finally 10) be alert to the surroundings! (dun keep smsing lah!)
keep those in mind, you should be pretty safe. anyway, crime can happen anywhere if you are not careful...
and oh! oh! oh! before i forget, have you ever tried having pasta in a hawker centre? i mean, really good pasta? the stall i tried last night uses barilla pasta and the sauce was yummy! its located at chinatown complex (level 2)... i had a salmon fettucine for like S$4 and i was pleasantly surprised by the texture and taste of the dish. add another 90 cents and you'll have a nice bowl of mushroom soup. very good value for money! go try it... if u need description on how to find the stall, email me.
